November 2025

Welcome to November 2025. It is one year ago that we were anticipating the results of the 2024 Presidential election and anticipating the successful 2nd term of Donald Trump. The election was viewed as “do or die” as it was crucial for the survival of our country on many fronts. In hindsight, the work that was accomplished by an army of Republican patriots clearly put President Trump over the finish line. Now, almost one ear later, we are experiencing similar emotions, as there are critical elections to be won across the country and within Yavapai County that may have a significant influence on the 2026 midterm elections. The Governor races in Virginia and New Jersey are coming down to the wire, with polls narrowing the gaps between Republican and Democrat the wire, with polls narrowing the gaps between Republican and Democrat political system of that city upside down based on the political ideology of the frontrunner. Locally, the election of candidates for Prescott City Council has an immediate impact on Prescott with potentially broader impacts across Yavapai County as well. We must pay close attention to the results of these upcoming elections, assess lessons learned and ensure that Republican turnout exceeds our expectations, so we are prepared to move into 2026 focused on our goals and objectives within the state of Arizona.

November is the time to acknowledge, support and thank our Veterans, both near and far. These resolute individuals who have served, who are serving and who are pondering service to our great country deserve our respect and gratitude. On a recent trip to the towns of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts, we visited the very hallowed ground of the first skirmishes of the American Revolutionary War, where it all started on April 19, 1775, 250 years ago. We visited the monuments erected to memorialize those battles and stood on the very ground where the battles were fought. The armed forces at that time included Minutemen, a rapid-response militia that served as the at that time included Minutemen, a rapid-response militia that served as the at the Battles of Lexington and Concord. The historical significance of the Minutemen stems from their ability to mobilize quickly, spread warnings through an "alarm and muster" system, and use effective guerilla tactics like ambushes, which proved highly disruptive to the British army. Their actions helped launch the war for independence and inspired other colonies to formsimilar units. Men from the ages of 16 to 60 were recruited with specific qualifications in mind. They were a specialized, hand-picked force within the

larger militia, often selected for their enthusiasm, reliability, and physical strength, and were typically younger than the average militia member. They came to represent the commitment of the colonies to defend their rights and liberties against British oppression.

Learning about our early history impressed even further respect for our armed forces, as military tactics, equipment, and strategies have evolved and become so much more advanced and complex over many years. Do today’s Green Berets or Navy Seals as examples come to mind? There was no doubt that these Minutemen were part of an elite core of individuals who were infused with determination, grit and a fight mentality that took our country down the path towards independence. These committed soldiers set the foundation for the proud men and women of the Armed Forces we have today in this country who carry on that tradition, and who fight for our freedom each and every day. And the election of Donald Trump in 2024 as Commander in Chief

reinvigorated and elevated these organizations to a level not seen in many years.

As Veteran’s Day is observed this month, let’s join together to thank them for their service and commitment to keeping our country the free nation that it is. Show your gratitude to them by writing a card of thanks, supporting veteran organizations by volunteering, thanking a serviceman you randomly encounter

in your travels, starting a conversation with friends and family about their military experiences, visiting hospitals or nursing homes housing and caring for elderly, disabled veterans, and providing gift packages during the holidays. These are a few ways to impact their lives, let them know they are not forgotten and thank them for keeping our country safe and free. We are and will continue to be One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All.
