The most recent events capturing our immediate attention are the rescue of The most recent events capturing our immediate attention are the rescue of our military pilots in Iran and the launch of the Orion Artemis II crew on their way to the moon. I am absolutely fascinated by both of these incredible displays of United States achievements. How coincidental that our downed F-15 weapons officer was miraculously rescued on Easter Sunday and that the Artemis II crew will be circling around the back side of the moon on Easter Monday. More details are emerging about this heroic and significant military rescue mission and the brave soldiers, airmen, and commanders who committed themselves to ensuring this one officer was not left behind. Military analysts and commentators are in awe of this achievement and the strength and capabilities demonstrated by our Armed Forces.
The Moon Mission is truly fascinating. I’m dating myself by admitting I observed the 1969 Moon landing on TV, along with thousands of others who were captivated by that event, as a significant step in the US Space race with Russia. It is difficult to comprehend the amount of planning, intelligence and technology required for
this to occur. And yet, here we are – over 50 years later – back into space, headed for the moon. This has been years in the planning phase, with multiple delays and challenges, and the involvement of dedicated personnel to launch 4 brave souls who will pursue the farthest distance any human has gone in space. On Monday April 6th, the Artemis II capsule will perform a moon flyby, so stay tuned as it will be broadcast live!
On March 21st, the Yavapai County Republican Committee held a very well received series of candidate debates and interviews – Yavapai Votes 2026 -- including Governor and Attorney General candidates, Secretary of State candidates, LD1 and Justice of the Peace candidates, and Arizona Corporation Commissioner candidates. Were you able to attend? This organized event was an excellent opportunity to once again get up close and personal with your 2026 candidates for office in Arizona, see them in action, and be further educated regarding your selections for the July 21st Primary election. The Primary is our next opportunity on this 2026 Campaign Train to select who will run against the Democrat candidates in the November General Election. We encourage you to continue pursuing these educational opportunities to select the candidates you believe reflect your priorities and who can ultimately win in November. The goal is “Keep Arizona RED!” Will you join the pledge? “I’m a Yavapai County voter, and I pledge to vote in 2026.”March 23rd was another milestone in our election process. Candidates who want to be on the Primary ballot have been working tirelessly these past few months, to ensure enough signatures were obtained to reach that goal. The Secretary of State’s website contains the list of those who achieved this milestone for Federal, State and Legislative offices, located at https://apps.arizona.vote/electioninfo/Election/68. In addition, we have important local elections occurring in Prescott Valley, Dewey-Humbolt, and Chino Valley area on Primary Day, July 21st . The candidates that are on the Primary ballot can be located by going to the respective City links on www.prescottvalleyrw.com under Resources. Congratulations to those who have achieved this milestone!
A message that will be resonating consistently for the next several months is “Get Out the Vote!” It is imperative that we encourage as many people as possible to exercise this sacred privilege. There are approximately 93,000 Republicans and 50,000 right-leaning Independents in Yavapai County that we
need to reach. Your participation in this effort is critical, as we are striving for 80% turnout in the November Midterms. And if these voters do not vote by staying home or becoming complacent, the Democrats will win! Look for ways that you can participate – there are many. There are opportunities at your fingertips at www.YAVGOP.com and www.Yavapaivotes.com, as examples. Encouraging all those in your circle of family, friends and neighbors is a great starting point. Let’s emulate the determination, perseverance and grit of our Armed Forces and Artemis II Astronauts as we look forward to big wins in November!
Thank you for your continued support of Prescott Valley Republican Women. Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday, April 9th for another educational and empowering event!
